Roo and Orlando

I have two dogs, both rescues – Roo and Orlando – whom the family adore and are very proud of.

Having read many books and articles on dog training and behaviour, I realize that all this time could in fact have been saved: by listening to proven techniques and a lot of common sense, we have achieved huge results by making small behavioural adjustments with the interaction between ourselves and our dogs. WE have made all the changes and our dogs have followed.

Much to our surprise and pleasure our position in the household has changed and we are now fully in charge of the dogs. Robbie has shown us how to be the ‘leader of the pack’. My dogs are happy in knowing that all they’ll ever need will be given to them, along with lots of love. We expect nothing from our dogs but we receive unconditional love and loyalty in return.

We would like to thank Robbie for all his time and sharing his skills with us – I’m sure the greatest thanks would come from Roo and Orlando if only they could talk!

Thanks again Robbie – you’re a star!

I’ve followed Robbie’s advice & Khade is now much calmer both indoors & out.

The consultation with Robbie really helped me understand why Khade was doing the things he did & where I was giving him permission to be the Alpha in our house. I’ve followed Robbie’s advice & Khade is now much calmer both indoors & out. I took him to my mum’s house three days after our consultation & my mum & sister couldn’t believe the difference – the “new” Khade was much more popular! He was so calm & didn’t pester for attention. I think Khade’s much happier now & so am I!

So a huge thank you to Robbie

Mitzi, our cross terrier rescue dog, was extremely territorial and protective she has twice bitten the postman…

Mitzi, our cross terrier rescue dog

We have a rescue dog, Mitzi, a cross terrier who is 8 years old. Mitzi was extremely territorial and protective as well as other issues including soiling in the home. Mitzi was charging the window if anyone passed on the street and assumed control of the door when friends and family came to visit. She barked incessantly and has twice bitten the postman.

When Robbie came round for the consultation I was amazed at the immediate impact he had with Mitzi.  Robbie sat in the rear dining room while his assistant knocked on the door.  Within a few goes Robbie had me controlling Mitzi, she no longer charged the door and remained sat in the dining room whilst I attended the door myself.

Before Robbie came to see us we were at the end of our tether with Mitzi as she had started to toilet on my bed which I found unhygienic, I had to buy new pillows and quilts on more than one occasion and if it was to continue I would have to give her up.

Since the consultation and the advice given we have assumed the Alpha role. Mitzi is now a follower and we the leaders and not vice versa. The transformation is astounding and Mitzi has ceased to use the bed for toileting. She no longer goes on the bed as I have installed structure and set boundaries.

Robbie advises you on dog behaviour and works with the dog – his approach has helped me to become a better dog owner and to project the correct energy.  I have been amazed and delighted with the results. From being at our wits end and considering giving up on Mitzi, we now have a happier more balanced dog.  I no longer get stressed with her, visitors come and go without response from Mitzi and our home is a more peaceful and happier place.

A big Thank you Robbie.

I was totally blown away when Robbie handed Bailey back to me and there I was with both my dogs walking calmly and attentively by my side – this had never happened before…

The time we spent with Robbie was so useful and although I was nervous at the start he very quickly put me at ease which of course meant the dogs were put at ease too. Robbie is a very good trainer- his personable nature and his relaxed and confident approach to both owner and dog alike made for a very enjoyable session. He took the time to listen to me about the current situation, asking insightful questions in order to fully understand our predicament and then we got to work.

Robbie explained clearly as we went along exactly what we were doing and I was amazed that within a very short space of time Robbie had Bailey walking by his side, no pulling or jumping. I was also very pleased to be able to get Harvey to do the same with me however I was totally blown away when Robbie handed Bailey back to me and there I was with both my dogs walking calmly and attentively by my side – this had never happened before – usually with a bit of effort I would be able to get Harvey beside me but Bailey would be off ahead, dragging us down the road!

We continued working like this for some time, Robbie constantly giving encouragement and reminding me what I needed to do in case I slipped back to old habits! Things got even better as we managed to walk past other dogs with no signs of aggression or nerves from Harvey and with no jumping and excitement from Bailey – both dogs giving me their full attention. Again this was fantastic and more than I could have hoped for in just one session.

I now use the techniques that Robbie taught me on a daily basis and I certainly have much more enjoyable walks with my dogs now that I know they will walk with me and not drag me along or growl/bark at any other dog that happens to be nearby.

  1. Derek Dubery says:

We have been through half a dozen different dog trainers with our rescue dog, Rockford. He has a lot of serious issues around other dogs, bicycles, children and strangers entering the house. Robbie is the first trainer who has really gone out of his way to give us some hope. He bought his own dogs, his wife and grandchildren to our house so that Rockford could really be exposed to his issues. Although there is still a long way to go, Robbie had Rockford walking calmly with his dogs in no time, At least we now feel that we better understand some of Rockford’s behaviours and can therefore start to develop a plan to tackle it. We are very grateful for Robbie’s help and patience.

Many thanks Derek. Although still a way to go in the process to Rockford’s recovery I was so impressed with the progression at the weekend. I shall forward a plan and advice this evening to follow and will see Rockford in a few weeks. please feel free to call me any time if you need to discuss anything or even to just chat about the issues.

    Regards Robbie
